Day 1: Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi international airport after midday you are met and transferred to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Delhi

Sights to see and experience include the Mughal Emperor Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ride through Old Delhi by cycle rickshaw and see daily activities of Chandni Chowk market, the congregational Jama Mosque; India Gate, a prominent landmark of Delhi; Gandhi Smriti, a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi in the house where he spent the last days of his life and was assassinated; and the Qutab Minar Complex (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Agra

Drive to Agra and visit the Agra Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site), built by Emperor Akbar, is perhaps the best-preserved fort in India. Afternoon visit the Taj Mahal (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the wonder in marble built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Begum.

Day 4: Agra to Ranthambhore

Sunrise visit of Taj Mahal to view the marble sparkle in dawn light. Drive to Ranthambhore and check-into resort. Evening at leisure to rest and enjoy the resort’s facilities.

Day 5: Ranthambhore Safari

Morning and afternoon game viewing safaris by shared forest department vehicle inside the Ranthambhore National Park, a protected forest of deciduous woodland, bamboo thickets and marshes. Under the shadow of a 10th century fort, this scenic reserve contains herbivores such as spotted deer, sambar and wild boar, and it is this abundance of prey species that supports one of the healthiest populations of tigers.

Day 6: Ranthambhore to Jaipur

Morning game viewing safari by shared forest department vehicle. Afternoon drive to Jaipur and check into hotel.

Day 7: Jaipur

Excursion to the hilltop Amber Fort with its mighty gates, temples, huge ornate halls, palaces, pavilions and gardens. Walk through of Amber village and the museum of textiles. Afternoon, visit the City Palace and Museum which displays Persian carpets, a renovated gallery for miniature paintings, astronomical manuscripts and more; Jantar Mantar, an 18th century observatory with astronomical instruments built in stone and marble; the Central Museum, known as the Albert Hall, which houses an exquisite collection of ceramics and other decorative arts; and walk through the colourful bazaar and view the Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds, the city’s most prominent landmark. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Flight Jaipur to Kolkata

Morning flight to Kolkata to join the cruise.
